So how much of a zest for life do you have? Think about those mornings where you wake up excited and exhilarated about the day ahead. What made you feel this way? A zest for life is about approaching life with excitement and energy; feeling alive and stimulated.
So many people I meet have lost their “luster” along the way, as they progress through life. The weight of daily life has seemingly taken its toll.
They are so blinded with the things they are having to do, the choices and decisions they’re having to make and the hectic schedules they are keeping to, that they don’t seem to have the time to find their zest for life.
Does this describe the way life is for you? It’s up to you to do something about this. By taking the necessary steps to improve your life, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. If you want to put the spark back into your life, family, relationships, or job you can.
What is this word Zest anyway?
Zest is defined as “invigorating or keen excitement or enjoyment”
So how do you know when you have a zest for life, well just imagine if every single day you couldn’t wait for what the day brings, you had a genuine excitement, you couldn’t wait to see what the day brings well then you’d know, you have a zest for life.
Surely that’s obvious, you would feel like this when you LOVE LIFE! and life loves you…
You’d have passion at the centre of your life, a definitive purpose that you are fulfilling, and a clear point of focus for your attention, something you have a genuine enthusiasm for.
But maybe that’s not you. Instead you just drift around from day to day feeling unhappy.
Well you’re here, so you no doubts are looking for answers. So that’s great because you haven’t given up on yourself. What you do know, is when you were young, you had images of what you wanted to be in life, what you wanted to accomplish and you probably even had a plan how to get there.
You were sure that when you became a grown up you’d be doing what you wanted, fulfilling your dreams and I’m sure this would bring a rush of excitement every time you thought about it. It sparked a fire within you.
But now you look back at just forgotten dreams having travelled down roads you never planned. You’ve lost your edge and zest for life. The life that you swore you would have and would do everything in your power to keep once we got it hasn’t materialised.
Well it’s never to late.
I was once told that everyday you awake is another chance to do it right.
Let that bring back your zest for life, because while you still have a breath in your body there’s every chance you can still get things right.
Just don’t give up!
So remember what it was that you used to want and how it was you used to feel about it and use those feelings to once again drive you on with a zest in your step.
You are somebody who wants to live life to its fullest with hope, desire and enthusiasm. So using the brilliant advice of one of my favourite authors:
