Why See The Negative

I find far too many people focus more on the things they didn’t accomplish instead of feeling good about all of those they did accomplish. Do you do that?

A man is but the product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes.

The first step in changing negative thinking is to become aware of it. For many of us, negative thinking is a bad habit – and we may not even know we’re doing it!

Positive and negative thoughts can become self-fulfilling prophecies: What we expect can often come true.

When you’re aware of the way you think, you can take action to use positive situations to your advantage, and re-shape the negative ones. The goal is to think positively, regardless of the situation, and make a conscious effort to see opportunities instead of obstacles.

When people refuse to let negativity into their lives, they are able to recognize the positive in a particular situation or person that they never knew existed. They are able to take a deeper and more inward look at their lives with greater self-respect and appreciation.

Become aware of your thoughts and feelings. It totally worked for me. You have to consciously and intentionally focus your mind instead of allowing it to just focus automatically.

The brain does not know how to think negatively. If you continually tell yourself “I want to lose weight,” your brain will be impressed with the word “weight” much more than the word “lose.” Focus on a “goal weight” it is to this that you will focus, not the losing of something. Always use positive language, focusing on what you want, not what you fear.

Among the most important personal choices you can make is to accept complete responsibility for everything you are and everything you will ever be. This is the great turning point in life. The acceptance of personal responsibility is what separates the successful person from the unsuccessful person.

Accepting complete responsibility for your life means that you refuse to make excuses or blame others for anything in your life that you’re not happy about. You refuse, from this moment forward, to criticize others for any reason. You refuse to complain about your situation or about what has happened in the past. You eliminate all your if-onlys and what-ifs and focus instead on what you really want and where you are going.

Focus your attention on the future, of your own possibilities and begin moving in that direction. If you do not firmly take control of your own mind and keep your thoughts focused on where you want to go, you will, by default, slip into the negativity and worry that is common to most people.

To accept complete responsibility for yourself, your life, and your results, with no excuses, is absolutely essential . From now on, no matter what happens, say to yourself, “I am responsible.”

If you are not happy with any part of your life, say, “I am responsible” and get busy changing it. If something goes wrong, accept responsibility and begin looking for a solution. If you are not happy with your current income, accept responsibility and begin doing the things that are necessary for you to increase it. If you are not happy with the amount of time you are spending with your family, accept responsibility for that and begin doing something about it.

When you accept responsibility, you feel personally powerful. Accepting responsibility gives you a tremendous sense of control over yourself and your life. The more responsibility you accept, the more confidence and energy you have. The more responsibility you accept, the more capable and competent you feel.

Accepting responsibility is the foundation of high self-esteem, self-respect, and personal pride. Accepting personal responsibility lies at the core of the personality of every outstanding man or woman.

On the other hand, when you make excuses, blame other people, complain, or criticize, you give your power away. You weaken yourself and your resolve. You turn over control of your emotions to the people and situations you are blaming or complaining about.

From now on, why don’t you try looking for the positive side of every situation. It will always be more productive than moping around dwelling on the negative aspects. It doesn’t take much, just look for one good thing in all the bad you can see, and soon all the possibilities will shine out like a beacon.
