We All Have To Make Choices Every Day

We all have to make choices every day. Each choice will have consequences. You’ll probably make almost a hundred choices every day. Whether or not to get out of bed, what to eat, what to do, what to think about, what to say, who to see…and on and on. While many of our daily choices may not be of vital importance to your life, some of them will be, and together all your choices in fact will be decisive for your life, so it’s important to understand that they do matter.

I was lying on a hospital bed yesterday afternoon recovering from yet another investigation. I began to think to myself whether this would be the last of a long line of medical problems or just another one along my journey, not the first, not the last, just health problem after health problem waiting in front of me. As insanity hasn’t yet crept in to my mind I’d love it more than anything if from this moment forward I begin to enjoy good health once again in fact make that awesome health. My inquisitive mind now questions what’s it going to take? What makes the difference between having a life of good health or one of Ill health?

Is it down to genes? My health could I suppose be down to hereditary factors. I am the man that my mum and dad made. Did they pass me a gene that meant from my mid 40s I’d see the end of my good health and go on a roller coaster ride stopping at illness after illness? Maybe it plays a part but my thoughts say not one that’s irreparable.

What about lady luck as a factor? Is life a game of poker, your health depends on the hand you’re dealt over which you have no control.

Your lifestyle the way you’re living? You can’t believe that a healthy lifestyle blogger wouldn’t include this as a factor that will determine your level of good health. In fact I’m living proof that those with a healthy lifestyle who eat healthily exercise drink lots of water little alcohol, think positively, have stress under control have the best chance of enjoying good health throughout their lifetime.

When you don’t have a good lifestyle you have to expect bad health coming your way. You see for many years I l had a really good healthy lifestyle and my health reflected this. But I lost it after my darkest days where I was bankrupted lost my house suffered from. Illness and began losing half my sight. From there I fell into bad habits and my health just got worse and worse.

“It is about choices we make. And how the direction of our lives comes down to the choices we choose.”

The choices we make in life determine how life works out for us. Yes I’m saying we each have the power to determine our lives through the choices we make. It means we don’t follow our irrational impulses, making quick unthought through choices, but think things through so as to make good choices and decisions.

My advice today is simple, think about each choice you make today. You can be a victim or a victor.

When you wake up every day, you have choices. You can either be positive or negative; an optimist or a pessimist. I choose to believe that I am here to fulfil my purpose, able to overcome the lows, and enjoy a happy, healthy, exciting life.

“Life presents many choices, the choices we make determine our future.”
