Focus – or be like a Headless Chicken

Success is focusing the full power of all you are on what you have a burning desire to achieve. —WILFERD A. PETERSON

There are so many things competing for and demanding your focus in life. Thus, if you don’t make a conscious effort to control your focus and decide in advance which things you are going to focus on (i.e. where you’re going to put your emotions, time, and energy), you’ll live in reaction to the demands of the moment.

Are you ready to start “pulling” what it is you really want closer to you, by focusing your thoughts? You must be100% absolutely clear on what it is you want and be in no doubt whatsoever that you will receive it! Mental Focus is that what you pay attention to, think about, picture, and say to yourself.

Be in control

The one thing that human beings have total and complete control over is how they focus their mind, but most of the time your are doing it unconsciously. It’s happening on autopilot.

Whatever you focus on you tend to get and most people are not focusing on what they want. Instead they’re focusing on what they’re afraid of, what they want to avoid, what they don’t want.

You have to learn how to consciously and intentionally focus your mind instead of allowing it to just focus automatically.

A persistently positive focus creates a consistently positive mind. Focus gives me powerful leverage over my mind.

There are seven mental focuses, ways of thinking, that you can adopt on a daily basis to create within you a confident, and optimistic person. The more you think in these ways, the better you will feel, the more you will accomplish.

Focus on the Future: The first and most important focus you can have is about your future orientation. Think about where you are going rather than where you have been. Think about what is possible in the months and years ahead rather than about the past, which cannot be changed.

Focus on Your Goals: The second area for your focus is on your goals. Think about your goals and how you can achieve them constantly, not about your problems, nor spending your time criticizing, complaining, and making excuses most of the time. Goals work because thoughts are things. Everything you see around you was first created in someone’s imagination. Whatever we imagine and focus on we move towards, and then create and manifest. Whatever you focus on consistently you will get or become!

Focus on Being Brilliant: The third area for your focus is brilliance. Be brilliant at what you do. Commit to brilliance in your work. Resolve today to be brilliant, no matter how much effort and sacrifice is necessary and no matter how long it takes.

Focus on Results: The fourth area you need to focus is on your result. Think constantly about the results that are expected of you.

Ask and answer the following four questions, over and over, every minute and hour of every day:

1. What are your highest-value activities? What are the things you do that contribute the greatest value to your life?

2. What are your key result areas? What are the results that you absolutely, positively, have to get in an excellent fashion to fulfill your responsibilities and succeed at life?

3. What can you and only you do that, if done well, will make a real difference to your life? T

4. What is the most valuable use of your time?

Focus on Solutions: The fifth area for focusing is on solutions. Think about the solution to your problems. You think about what can be done and how the problem can be solved instead of what has happened and who is to blame. Resist the temptation to become angry, blame others, or make excuses. Instead, ask questions like, “What’s the solution? What do we do now? What is the next step? How do we solve this problem? How do we limit the damage? How can we prevent this from happening again? Where do we go from here?” Rrespond constructively to the inevitable problems and difficulties of day-to-day life.

Focus on Growth: The sixth area of your focus is growth.. This fact is: Your life gets better only when you get better. Be committed to yourself and to your future. Dedicate Yourself to Lifelong Learning

Focus on Action: The seventh area for focus is action. Resolve today to develop a sense of urgency in the things you do.

Focus on opportunities and the potential rewards!

Set Priorities and Concentrate Single-mindedly – focus on your top tasks all the time;

In fact, whether you are succeeding at what you’re doing right now in your career, your personal life, your health, or your relationships is largely a reflection off what you are focusing on in these areas of your life – or if you are even focusing on those areas at all.

Whether you are stressed or fulfilled has little to do with what you’re actually doing, or even the results you are producing. If you’re stressed, it’s a result of where you are putting your focus.

Focus is the ultimate power that can change the way we think, the way we feel, and what we do in any moment. When we change our focus, we change our lives. What we focus on determines the direction in which we move.

You must consistently focus on what it is you want in life. This ensures that you are focused on the big picture of what’s important to you before you begin planning your time.

You must be consistently focused on your most important goals in each area of your life so that you can experience balance.

When you are absolutely clear about what it is you want and why you want it, you will become more focused, more passionate, more committed, more resourceful, more flexible, and more fulfilled in the process. When you do this, you begin to create an unbelievable momentum in your life. The rewards for living this way are unimaginable.

Anything that’s worthwhile in life requires our consistent focus if we are going to make progress in achieving the things we want.

One of the biggest obstacles to your dreams is not having a clear destination in mind. To often people get side tracked by all the demands that are thrown at them from all different directions. All this leads to is making you feel like a chicken without a head running around with no clear focus or intent, moving no further forward towards your dreams.
