9 Steps for Creating the Life YOU Want

9 Steps for Creating the Life YOU Want

We all aspire to do, be and have great things. Yet so many of you simply aren’t creating the results you want. All you seem to be able to create is a life lacking in money, romance, success or happiness.

Ever feel like you’re caught up in being busy, busy, busy, but not sure if you’re doing what you should be doing? It’s scary to think we could be throwing all our time and energy into doing the wrong things. Spending so much time and effort that will get us no further along.

Do you get lots done, but without a real sense of accomplishment?

You know you’re constantly getting caught up in the day to day and hour to hour routines of life. This means that you never get a chance to step back and see the bigger picture, or ask yourself those important questions?

Well ask yourself one now:

What do you really want in your life?

Guess what? It’s time to start creating the life you want. We all have the ability to create the life we want. We just need to learn how to do it. Let me give you a few simple steps you need to take that will jumpstart your success and attract what you want in life.

1.    Get Your Head Out Of The Sand.

Don’t bury your head in the sand and pretend life is great when it isn’t. You need to know what you’re dealing with – where your life is right now, and start determining exactly where you really want it to be. Sit down and make a list of exactly how you want your life to be and what you want to create in it. Consider your future carefully, choose your course and follow it. No more hiding from the truth. No more telling yourself, just keep going and things will miraculously turn around. It’s time you took 100% responsibility for your life, because no one else is going to do it for you. It’s time to face reality, see where you are, because then you can start building the life you truly want.

2.    Get Real About Your Life.

Way too many of you bury yourselves in your work and business so as to avoid thinking about deeper problems. You don’t want to wake up to the fact that you’re not happy with where your life is right now. You don’t want to dream once more, about those exciting possibilities. Well you should! You need to get a clear vision for your life – to finally know who you really are – and to know how to achieve your life dreams successfully, as you live the life you love! We all need the proper perspective to achieve excellence in our lives.  We need to look at the big picture.  No more allowing yourself to lose sight of what you really want. Start thinking about what you could have. Ask yourself  ‘Do I feel unhappy about anything? What can I do about it?’

3.    Stop And Gather Your Senses

Don’t panic!  Take some deep breaths. Find time to relax. Force yourself to pause, stop, and go within yourself. Create that calm space within your mind, beyond all your “shoulds”, “musts” “to-dos” and “what-ifs”, find the space for you to collect your thoughts, your strength, your senses, your priorities and your purpose. Get away from all distractions for a few hours. Reflect and think about life, and what you truly want out of it.

4.    Take An Inventory Of What You Have

Take the time to consider all the things that you have in life instead of complaining about the things that you don’t have. You need to sit down and do some talking to yourself about all of the gifts and opportunities and challenges that you have. You have more to rely upon than what you are counting right now.  Think about your positive qualities and past successes.  Look at the skills, qualities, talents, and resources that you have available to you that can help you move your life forward?  How can you more effectively utilize these strengths to achieve far more than you have to this point?

Find out whether you are happy with where you are right now or perhaps you would like to move your life into a new direction.

5.    Stop procrastinating or making excuses for yourself.

Your mind is the key that either ignites action or creates procrastination, the latter being the thing that stalls you and stops you from taking action to create the life you want. Your mind is a powerful tool that when you allow it to be can produce a vast array of  self-doubting self-talk that immobilises you.

How often do you find yourself making excuses? Instead of doing something, you come up with ways to explain your inaction.

6.    Figure Out What You Want in Life

Life is incredibly complex. You are so busy, burning the candle at both ends yet you are unsatisfied and unfulfilled. You go through the motions day in and day out tackling your work. You physically tired, spiritually drained and miles away in life from where you want to be.  It’s time for you to identify your goals and dreams. You have to decide what you want. Define your desires in clear and compelling detail. What does success look like to you?

Life is filled with infinite possibilities limited only by our creative ability and courage. Those  who get what they want have a habit of making the effort to know what they want. So work out what are your big dreams, what is it you really want.

7.    Believe in Yourself and your possibilities

If you are going to be successful in creating the life of your dreams, you have to believe that you are capable of making it happen. You have to believe that you have what it takes possessing the abilities, inner resources, talents and skills to create your desired results.

8.    Make a step-by-step plan and chart a course

Write down what you really want. Committing what you want to paper is important.  You have to have a plan.  It helps us develop a vision in our minds that serves as a map.  You can’t get to where you want to go, if you haven’t chosen a destination.

9.    Take the 1st Steps

Now set the wheels in motion. Make time for dreams. Your life is big, and there’s room in it for work and dreams. It’s simply a matter of how you prioritize. Take action and begin fulfilling your dreams.

Maybe you will one day understand the reason I advocate discovering your passion and spending your time doing what matters, is that it gives you a power beyond anything to take your life to a new level. When you follow your passions you are inspired. You come to realise the impossible is possible. And you wake up every morning excited by the prospects of your day ahead.

Please comment, let me know what it will take for you to follow your dreams and create the life you want.
