Why Dairy Is Bad For Your Health

Why Dairy Is Bad For Your Health

There have been many conflicting stories in the news, in scientific journals and from nutritionists regarding dairy products. However, there has been much research to-date concerning dairy products which has shown why dairy is bad for your health. In this article, I will uncover the main problems with dairy product consumption, and why you should cut it out of your diet.

Food today is not what it used to be; it is overly processed and chemically altered like never before.

For me, my suspicions began to rise when I found myself having terrible bowel problems.

After experimenting with my food intake, by eliminating different food groups, I found that having cut all dairy products out my diet I saw a remarkable positive change in not just my bowel movements but my health too

I now believe that it is far better for one’s health to avoid dairy products completely. I love ice cream, and once enjoyed my regular large cup of hazelnut latte from Costa but now knowing the ill-effects dairy was having on me I avoid it totally.

From the research I have done these seem to be facts proving why dairy is bad for your health.
Adults stop producing significant amounts of lactase

The majority of humans naturally stop producing significant amounts of lactase — the enzyme needed to properly metabolize lactose, the sugar in milk — sometime between the ages of two and five. In fact, for most mammals, the normal condition is to stop producing the enzymes needed to properly digest and metabolize milk after they have been weaned.

Calcium isn’t bone-protective

Studies of calcium supplementation have shown no benefit in reducing fracture risk. vitamin D appears to be much more important than calcium in preventing fractures. countries where dairy consumption is low often have low rates of osteoporosis, while countries that consume lots of dairy (like the U.S.) often have high rates of osteoporosis.

Calcium may raise cancer risk

Research shows that higher intakes of both calcium and dairy products may increase a man’s risk of prostate cancer by 30 to 50 percent. Plus, dairy consumption increases the body’s level of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) — a known cancer promoter.

Milk Allergy – Not everyone can stomach dairy.

About 75 percent of the world’s population is genetically unable to properly digest milk and other dairy products — a problem called lactose intolerance. The severity of milk allergy ranges from life-threatening (anaphylaxis) to relatively mild (hives).

It is “unnatural” to consume milk.

Humans are the only species that consumes milk in adulthood and certainly the only species that consumes the milk from another animal. Before the agricultural revolution, humans only drank mother’s milk as infants. They didn’t consume dairy as adults.

It’s full of saturated fat and is linked to heart disease

Whole-fat dairy products contain saturated fat, which increases your risk of cardiovascular disease by damaging arteries and increasing the “bad” LDL cholesterol that clogs them up. Too much saturated fat also causes weight gain.

Acne of the Skin

There is a lot of evidence pointing to the fact that consuming dairy plays a large part in acne and a dairy-free diet banished acne. Some physicians state that it could be a milk allergy or sensitivity causing inflammation; others suggest the hormones in milk are aggravators.

Mad Cow disease and all that

It also, comes from the very same animals that we are finding are bad for our health. Having researched animal products I now firmly believe Cow’s milk is an unhealthy fluid from diseased animals that contains a wide range of dangerous and disease-causing substances that have a cumulative negative effect on all who consume it.

There are great alternatives too, Soya, almond, coconut etc. They contain higher amounts of vitamin D and Calcium than cow’s milk and have a much longer shelf life

In conclusion I believe it’s better for us to get calcium, potassium, protein, and fats from other food sources, like whole plant foods — vegetables, fruits, beans, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and seaweed. It means eliminate milk, cheese, yogurt, and ice cream

A dairy free diet is now proving to be one of the most effective ways to dramatically improve the health. For some people, becoming dairyfree will actually prevent a disease from occurring hence prolonging life which could have been shortened with cow’s milk.

Let me finish with this quote

“There is compelling evidence, now published in top scientific journals and some of which is decades old, showing that cows’ milk is associated, possibly even causally, with a wide variety of serious human ailments including various cancers, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and an array of allergy-related diseases. And, this food contains no nutrients that cannot be better obtained from other far more nutritious and tasty foods.” Dr Colin Campbell

Now I’d like to hear from you… Do you agree or disagree that dairy is bad for you? Have you experienced any problems consuming dairy? What changes — for better or worse — have you experienced if you’ve tried eliminating dairy?
