You only live once which means our daily choices matter. You only get a finite amount of days so make them count!
I believe that it is the choices we make, not the chances we take that determine our destiny. In which case you just need to learn how to make “good” choices as well as to learn from your mistakes.
To many of you don’t make choices because you’re frightened of getting things wrong, making bad decisions, terrified of failing, so you do nothing and stay stuck.
Everyone will make a multitude of decisions every day. We decide whether or not to get out of bed, what we’ll eat, what we’ll do, what we’ll think about, what we’ll say…and on and on. While it may seem like many of our daily choices are not that significant, it’s important to understand that they do matter.
I was lying in a hospital bed a few weeks ago recovering from yet another operation. I began to think to myself whether this would be the last of a long line of medical problems or just another one along my journey, not the first, not the last, just health problem after health problem waiting in front of me. As insanity hasn’t yet crept in to my mind I’d love it more than anything if from this moment forward I begin to enjoy good health once again, in fact make that awesome health. My inquisitive mind now questions what’s it going to take? What makes the difference between having a life of good health or one of Ill health?
In every single thing you do, you are choosing a direction. Your life is a product of choices. Dr. Kathleen Hall
Is it down to genes? My health could I suppose be down to hereditary factors. I am the man that my mum and dad made. Did they pass me a gene that meant from my mid 40s I’d see the end of my good health and go on a roller coaster ride stopping at illness after illness? Maybe it plays a part but my thoughts say not one that’s irreparable.
What about lady luck as a factor? Is life a game of poker, your health depends on the hand you’re dealt over which you have no control.
Your lifestyle the way you’re living? You can’t believe that a healthy lifestyle blogger wouldn’t include this as a factor that will determine your level of good health. In fact I’m living proof that those with a healthy lifestyle who eat healthily, exercise, drink lots of water, little alcohol, think positively, have stress under control, have the best chance of enjoying good health throughout their lifetime. When you don’t have a good lifestyle you have to expect bad health coming your way.
You see for many years I l had a really good healthy lifestyle and my health reflected this. But I lost it after my darkest days where I was bankrupted lost my house suffered from Illness and began losing half my sight. From there I fell into bad habits and my health just got worse and worse.
So here am I lying in this hospital bed sharing with you my inner dialogue. Can you see the conclusion my mind has drawn.
Yes I’m saying we each have the power to shape our lives. Our life is shaped by the choices we make. You are the one who choose how to live your life or create your life’s path. Our future will not be determined by chance, but rather by the choices we make today. Life is a series of choices. The choices we make now affect the options available for the next round of choices. Learning what to choose, and how to choose, may be the most important education you will ever receive. Those who let their mistakes teach them and not rule them are one step closer to truly achieving success and happiness.
So please make wise choices, but also brave ones.
I believe that we are solely responsible for our choices, and we have to accept the consequences of every deed, word, and thought throughout our lifetime. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
You can be a victim or a victor. You can let life run you over or you can take it on because we each have the power to choose a better way.
Life presents many choices, the choices we make determine our future. Catherine Pulsifer
