What I learned on my journey from illness to wellness is that you cannot leave your health in the hands of Doctors and rely on medicines which in the main will stop things worsening but won’t cure them. Even worse is to carry on doing the lifestyle practices that make you ill in the first place. In most cases ill health is not down to bad luck, nor is it genetics. A key factor is the lifestyle choices you make. Generally bad choices like smoking and drinking alcohol to excess will play a prominent role, as will unhealthy diets, a lack of exercise, too much stress and negative emotions like anxiety and worry. The World Health Organisation states that at least 50% of cancers are related to diet and lifestyle. There is evidence that shows almost all chronic illnesses are in part down to making bad lifestyle choices.
Yet the good news is there are a few simple lifestyle practices which are widely recognized for the health and wellness benefits that they bring. In essence these lifestyle practices support your body in healing. Natural healing cannot be dismissed, nor must it be ignored by anyone needing to find ways to take back their health or avoid ill health in the first place. Living a healthy lifestyle will improve the body’s natural healing process. It is so important for you to realise that many diseases are both avoidable and repairable when we support the bodies powerful ability to heal itself.
