For three years I struggled greatly with my health. What I find absolutely ridiculous is that not one of the many doctors or consultants I was under ever told me about the dangers of our current modern diets and the possibility that this has had a major part in why I’ve been ill and unable to restore my health to a good level. Worst still I wasn’t told about the incredible healing properties of an intermittent plant based fast. Over the next month or so I’m going to share with you exactly what I’ve done to take back my health. I’m going to start with showing you why what you’re eating is potentially making you sick.
Our rich, modern diet has been associated with contributing towards many chronic illnesses such as cancer, heart attack, hypertension, stroke, hardening of the arteries, and diabetes. More and more evidence seems to be pointing the finger at our diets as being the cause of much of the misery and chronic illnesses many of us are experiencing.
Occurrences of conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and other chronic illnesses have skyrocketed and there is a great deal of evidence that much of this is down to the standard diet people eat.
It is a fact that
- Heart disease
- Type 2 diabetes
- Many forms of cancer
- High blood pressure
- Elevated cholesterol
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- And many other chronic illnesses
are directly tied to an unhealthy dietary lifestyle and can be prevented, treated, and even reversed by using food as medicine.
More and more doctors are waking up to the fact that drugs and surgery do not effectively treat most degenerative diseases – much less prevent it. When they take a hard look at what science says about diet and health, more and more of them are supporting healthy eating centered on unrefined plant foods.
Whatever our illness, it is a simple fact that on their own medication and treatment cannot 100% help you take back your health if you persist in doing the things that made you ill in the first place. There is a very strong possibility that the foods you eat continually weaken your immune defences, fill your body with toxic impurities and leave your body systems hopelessly overworked yet lacking in the necessary nutrition..
Your first priority should be to help your body to harness your inborn healing power by doing whatever you can to promote health, to boost our immune response, to increase bodily energy, and to decrease the level of impurities in the system, and this takes changing your diet.
The sad truth is that most people, when ill, will rest their hope of recovery entirely on their medication. They will faithfully take the prescribed dosages, but will doggedly continue with the very life- destroying habits that brought ill health upon them in the first place – no thought is given to causes, no improvement is made to their living habits, and no change is made to their diet. You simply cannot afford to rest our hopes on expected miracle cures.
