Today I want you to think about what makes you tick. The thing that motivates you that keeps you going in life. It’s your driving force, what gets you up in the morning, keeps your enthusiasm throughout the day and you dream about it when you go to bed.
My life is not all about the epic failure that came my way but how I eventually reacted to this and showed a determination to take my life forward. I kept reminding myself that everything in your life goes in cycles and trends. I had to stay calm and confident that I could turn things around. I had to wrap my life around the things that make me tick.
Once I truly connected to the question ‘what makes you tick’ my life took off and I’ve not looked back. Although ultimately we all need to be making money, back then I certainly did, we need a stronger motivation than that to get us to perform at our best, we need to be inspired.
The minute I decided to focus my life around making the difference, I was motivated, inspired and performing at my very best.
“When we seek to discover the best in others, we somehow bring out the best in ourselves.” — William Arthur Ward
Given the chance most people would like to better themselves in some way. Some people may harbour dreams of dramatically changing their life, whilst others would be happy with a few little tweaks here and there. Acknowledging that nothing changes unless you want it to, and are prepared to do something about it, will help you accept life as it currently is. It will also make you realise how many positive changes you can create.
You must never be afraid to do what makes you happy, puts a smile on your face throughout the day, what makes you tick.
You have to chase your dreams, the future as you want it to be. You have to grasp every opportunity that comes your way and do the things that make you alive.
Ask yourself what makes you tick and then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who come alive when they’re doing what they do best while loving doing it. Without a sense of passion and aliveness in your work, what’s the point? Just marking off things on your to-do list day by day is no way to live.
“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive and then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” Howard Thurman
So make the decision today, is it time to be yourself, time to take charge of your life and to go after what you really want?
If so get on with it!
