Knocked My Socks Off

Well this week I definitely experienced a sequence of events that knocked my socks off. Our day could not have gone more perfect if we tried. The strange thing is, unusually what happened wasn’t planned in the slightest. Maybe that’s what made things even more remarkable.

We all have had things not go our way from time to time, but it’s up to us to make the best of every situation that comes our way. In reality the way we respond to those things that happen to us is what counts the most. I think what occurred today highlights how we can create magic in our life by reacting positively to everything we face.

I should start the story back a few weeks ago. I was doing a stock inventory around the Sports Store. This was in preparation for building the database to be used for our online shop. After I’d put in about three hours I took a bit of a break to recharge. My business partner Neil said let’s just put a few items into our Amazon shop while we were doing this. So we then spent about an hour selecting some prime products which we thought would do well in the Amazon type environment. When are hour was up I said let me put just one more product on and I grabbed the nearest thing in front of me that happened to be a pack of three white Addidas Sport Socks. As quickly as I put them into our shop I’d forgotten about them because they really aren’t what we are all about. I’d actually put them on as a bit of a joke.

So back to yesterday and the amazing sequence of events that took place. It all started with a text from Neil. He asked had I looked at our Amazon store. I text back saying no I was way too busy working on our main online sport shop. He then informed me that during the night and early morning we had sold 5 packs of our Addidas socks. Three people seemingly unconnected had visited our amazon store and purchased one or two pairs. By the fact that we’d never actually intended to put them in the store we hadn’t stock controlled for them. So checking with the actually bricks and mortar shop we are now part of we found that a few pairs had been sold and we were left with two packs, which left us three short. Not good!

So it was on the phone to Kevin at the shop asking him to check with the supplier about stock. Not a problem fortunately they had them in and could dispatch them within the hour. But to have next day delivery from this particular supplier required us to spend £100. No way did we want that many socks. So we said give us half an hour to check the catalogue and we would determine a few extra items that we could add to the order.

So we scoured the catalogue, and checked a variety of products using our alogrithms to determine some potentially good sellers. It didn’t actually take very long to find a product that rang all the right bells. It made a very easy decision for us, and we decided to purchase this alongside our socks. Alas we ended up kicking our heels because the wholesaler had recently stopped supplying this product, so we had to get our socks and made up the delivery with other products we sell frequently.

We returned to our office a little deflated. We loved the product, and how perfectly it fitted with our philosophy of healthy lifestyles living. We don’t stay down for long. Neil took charge and within minutes found the number of the actual Manufacturer. He flung it at me and said, do what you do, and call them.

An hour later, a relationship has began that I am confident is going to blossom. I had the pleasure of talking to the CEO of the company, a guy named Daniel Herman. The company Is called Bio-Synergy who can boast an award-winning line of health and wellness products. We were on the phone for an hour. Here was a man as passionate about what he does as I am. He was willing to answer my questions and give me all this time even though he didn’t know who I was. He was also kind enough to email me a lot of information about his range of products. I’m glad he did, because after reading all through them I absolutely fell in love with what he was offering. I have no doubts here were products that could help take life to the next level for mind, body and soul, with the key word of health being a main feature. At last I had found the perfect products to align myself and Healthy Lifestyles Living. So I’m sure you’ll be hearing much more about them.

We spoke again today, and what proved to me that yet again fate is playing its hand was the fact that his offices are 100 yards away from the house in which I was born in and the place I lived for the first 18 years of my life. A cold shiver ran through me hearing this. I haven’t been to Golders Green in NW11 for over 10 years, probably longer, and now I was looking at building a relationship with a business located right their while I lived some 300 miles away in the North East of England.

I believe that yet again this demonstrates one of the key messages I communicate from my personal development side of blogging, and that is never give up, whatever obstacle comes your way, whatever the problem you have to deal with, if you approach it in the right way, you will find the perfect solution. Just because one door seems to close on you, does not mean you can not find another door to enter through. Your reactions are vital to your success, and if you want something enough you will do everything you can to get it, and would never consider giving up.

So thanks to a pair of socks, and a wholesaler losing an account we have found the products and company that has the perfect synergy for everything we do here at Healthy Lifestyles Living. In a way they also make me feel like I’m going home, so expect an account one day soon of my visit to the offices of Bio Synergy in my beloved Golders Green.
