Sex … Sex …and More Sex … It’s Good for Your Health

It was a slow night at The Bloggers Gym. Outside the rain poured, a typical night in the North of England. There were only a few guys working out, each keeping to themselves, completely in their own workout zone. The clanking of plates competed with the music coming out of the speakers but it made no difference to any of us guys lost in our testerone crazed state. We walk and talk the benefits of health and fitness, we live and breath it, only occassionally allowing anything to distract us.

I was winding my workout down on the treadmill, having finished my weights programme. My first ten minutes on a treadmill are always warm-up, now I’d reached the point where I would crank up the speed and really hit my stride and sweat my pecs off.

At that moment she walked in. A vision of total loveliness. Our eyes met. She gave me a smile, and stepped on to the other treadmill. “I didn’t expect anybody else to be here,” she said, starting to get into her stride.

We spent the next ten minutes or so running and chatting about all sorts of things. Her voice just melted me and sent signals to all parts of my body and mind. I’m not really sure what we were chatting about. I do know that once the flirting began, even if neither of us was taking it seriously, I took frequent glances at her and enjoyed watching her breasts move beneath her vest top. Her legs were nice and firm, and her tight running shorts were raising up far enough to make me wonder whether she was wearing panties at all under them. This was not the ideal mindset when running at 14 miles an hour.

I could feel a reaction in the one muscle I had no intention of working out in the gym, I looked down to see something trying to poke its way out of my shorts, and I’m sure I caught her glancing down noticing what was happening. This could be seriously embarrassing. I hit the “cool down” button on the machine and the speed gradually slowed to a stop.

As I began to walk away, she turned towards me and said “You worked up quite a sweat, would you like me to join you over at the weights bench, or would you like to take me into the changing room and take care of my other needs.”

Okay, so maybe there’s some day dreaming going on in my head, or perhaps it’s Jessica Brants erotica writing (check out her story here, then vote for her) that led me to this article today. Other influencers in my bloggers group have also played a part and I’d love them to post their erotica writing in my comments. You know who you are. The real reason for this article is to show you the health benefits of an active sex life. Most of you participate in sexual activity due to the pleasure it involves, but I’m here to tell you there are far more reasons for you to get to it. There are considerable health benefits of sex.

In fact, sex can benefit your health in many ways. Here are reasons to go at it like a rabbit:

Sex is Good for The Heart – Like all intense physical activity, sex is a form of cardio-exercise, which gets your heart pumping faster and helps it stay in shape. So pick up your tempo and gain more benefit.

Sex helps with weight loss – Well as I just mentioned being a intense physical activity, sex will help you lose weight. So put as much movement in as you c an. Perhaps swap positions frequently to gain the most weight loss benefits. Maybe take turns with who goes on top. Research has shown that 30 minutes of sex can burn off 85 calories. You may have to work at it to reach this level. 30 seconds of intensity for now, is better than nothing at all.

Sex heightens your immune system – The fresh supply of blood pumping through your body provides all your organs with a healthy dose of oxygen and rids the body of old and wasteful products. Sex also increases the amount of the antibody called immunoglobulin A which can protect you from getting colds and other infections.

Sex can help you relax – After an orgasm, you feel calm and relaxed and much evidence proves that you sleep much better during the night. Ask any lady how well her partner sleeps straight after sex. It’s relaxation properties are unbeatable, you all know how great you feel after orgasm.

Sex reduces the risk of prostate cancer – Frequent ejaculations, especially in 20-something men, may reduce the risk of prostate cancer later in life. For older men lower prostate cancer risk was associated with men that had 21 ejaculations a month or more. So perhaps you need to pick up your sexual activity.

Sex relieves stress – A recent survey revealed that people who have more sex reported that they felt more at ease, happier and learned how to handle stress better. There’s a medical explanation for the mood boost sex gives you. The brain releases endorphins during and after sex, and these neurotransmitters create a feeling of euphoria while masking the negative effects of stress.

Sex lowers blood pressure – Researchers have also found that sex lowers your blood pressure, which is good for your health and allows you to better keep your cool in stressful situations.

Sex relieves pain – Endorphins and lower blood pressure also mean that sex relieves pain. Endorphins are released during sex because of the heightened levels of the hormone oxytocin in your body. This has been known to alleviate arthritic and menstrual pain, among other things. Lower blood pressure can also help relieve migraines.

Sex aids sleep – the oxytocin generated during sex helps you sleep better, as mentioned above. Sex relaxes you, promoting deeper, more restful sleep.

Sex improves cardiovascular health – Research has found that having sex twice or more a week reduced the risk of fatal heart attacks.

Sex improves your performance out the bedroom – It goes without saying that when we get aroused our blood starts to pump at a quicker rate and, thus, blood flow to our brain increases. Both an increased heart rate and more blood pumping through the brain result in better performance (in and out of the bedroom).

Sex is a great way to start your day – Mornings are the perfect time to indulge in a quickie, because you’ll probably be in a hurry, and the heart-pounding adrenaline of spontaneous sex will intensify the entire experience. The chemicals released during morning intercourse can improve your health and mood for the whole day. Not only does it make them less likely to catch a cold or flu, it can also improve the quality of their hair, skin, and nails.

Another great thing which you might find strange is that sex and chocolate go really well together! The right chocolate taken in moderation has the same effect on us as sex and lets face it, who doesn’t like munching away on their favorite bar of chocolate.

Further evidence suggests that women who gave their men oral sex, and swallowed, had a lower risk of preeclampsia, the dangerously high blood pressure that sometimes accompanies pregnancy. I have my suspicions that this may have been written by a male, so don’t put to much credence into this. But I felt obliged to bring you all the pertinent information.

Enjoying a thorough romp can do wonders for you both physically and psychologically, so go tell your partner that you must have sex on a daily basis because your life may depend on it.

Nice. Although I have to admit, you talking erotically didn’t do it for me as much as reading Jessica’s post. Maybe thats because I can actually picture you on that treadmill… Great message though. I’m getting the wrong kind of workout in the bedroom at the moment lol.

    Larry Sir,
{{{{smiling}}} I think I inspired you??? No or Yes??? Tell me some thing Larry why is it that athletes believe that sex drains them off all their strength??? I have always wondered that.. You are the man to answer that question for me. If Sex is the top 12 beneficial things that contribute to a healthy lifestyle why in the hell don’t more people have it. : )
@Neil thank you for your vote of confidence why limit yourself to having sex in the bedroom mister try a different venue : )You are correct Larry + erotica + self help = Oh Boy watch out…. I can’t see him turning on very many men…. LOL

    • LarryLewis says:

There is no conclusive evidence that sex the night before an event can have an effect either way on your physical sporting performance.I would suggest the best reason for abstaining is to keep your focus, and allow yourself to prepare through mental rehearsal.

  4. I like this health advice! I shall do my best to comply. Love the caveat at the end about the statistic produced by men. 🙂
