People in today’s supposedly fast paced world are actually becoming far less active. Not a lot of energy is used by your body when you use cars to travel everywhere you want to go; remote controls when for example you want to turn over the television; food processors when you are preparing meals; home delivery for take out meals; communicating through text messaging on mobile phones; computer games as the recreational activity our children choose; researching all types of things by sitting at a computer and using the internet. People now even do all there shopping on the internet, so there’s no need to even walk around the supermarket, and pick things of the shelf and place them in a trolley that you then have to push around. We as a society are becoming more a couch potato population. Is there any surprise about how big a problem obesity is?

Following a programme of physical activity is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle. It will help you lose weight and improve your general health and is good for your heart and lungs. It will give you a burst of natural adrenalin during the day, helping to clear your head and boost your energy levels.

So rather than slouching on the couch in front of the television, get started today by taking up a physical activity.

Today I’m going to suggest that you get active in the morning. Moving your body. Using your body. Putting it through its paces. Waking it up. Energising it. It will have a really positive, profound effect on you. Just using your body in the morning, gets your brain working, clears away your cob webs and refocuses you away from those morning brain fog.

Modern Technology makes us lazy. With all the latest technology available to us, and it now becoming an indispensable part of almost everyone’s lives, we are now lazier and more inactive than ever before. Now with only a click of a button, you can get the most complex tasks solved in no time at all. The need for exercise has become very important.

Your body was designed to be active. Today’s modern advances have made it too easy to be sedentary – so I’m telling you to get moving.

Do you think I’m going on a bit here. Do I sound like I’m begging you to take this action. Maybe its something to do with how important it is. Also it has a lot to do with the fact that I have worked in gyms for a long time now. I know how many people look at exercise as a bad thing. Something they want to avoid, or perhaps something they couldn’t handle. I’ve seen statistics from the gym industry in America that shows there are less people members of gyms, than the number of people who have belonged to gyms but don’t anymore. I’m not telling you to join a gym here, I’m not even asking you to do a weights training programme, nor am I getting you to run a mile or 5 at the fastest pace you can. That’s not what this is about. This is about you moving. Just walk! That surely isn’t to much for even the least enthusiastic exerciser to do.

Starting your morning with a 30 minute walk is the best possible way to start your day, and it will increase your metabolism and blood circulation and also lowers your blood sugar level, as well as help reduce body fat. A brisk walk in the morning not only keeps you active, but also helps you burn calories by elevating the body metabolism.

A morning walk an essential part of your daily life. It brings you many benefits. Such as:

• When you exercise first thing in the morning, it jump starts your metabolism, keeping it elevated for hours, sometimes up to 24 hours! That means you’re burning calories all day long just because you exercised in the morning!

• Working out in the morning boosts your energy levels for the day. You feel good about yourself because you know you have done something regimented and good for you.

• You’ll feel more alert, and energized

• The best time to perform cardiovascular exercise is first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. When performed at this time you burn 300% more body fat that at any other time in the day because your body does not have any glycogen (stored carbohydrates-sugar) in the system to burn. Therefore, it has to go directly into the fat stores in order to get the energy necessary to complete the activity.

• Morning exercise controls your appetite for the whole day. You will eat less since activity causes the release of endorphins, which in turn reduces appetite.

• By waking up the same time every day, and exercising at the same time every morning, you create a regular habit, and your body will routinely adjust to that, so it wakes you at that time automatically, and prepares and readies itself for the exercise.

• The largest number of people (over 80%) who exercise consistently, do so first thing in the morning. Exercising first thing in the morning is the most foolproof way to ensure that other things don’t take over your fitness commitment

For many people, like all the steps in the morning power up session, you start looking forward to it. It’s something you’re doing that’s good for you; taking care of your body, mind, and soul. It’s a great time to think clearly, show gratitude, plan your day, or just relax mentally.

Some other benefits of exercising in the morning:

• less stress and anxiety

• better mood throughout the day

• ability to get twice as much work done

• weight control and weight loss

• more energy and much more positive attitude

• live longer

• protect from certain cancers

• prevents diabetes

• prevents arthritis and osteoporosis

Nothing gives you a better chance at having a great day than starting with a morning walk. All you have to do is 30 minutes each and every day. By making it a morning habit, you truly will improve your life. Wake up, and start walking for about 30 minutes everyday for a week. If you want it to be a permanent habit, then walk every day for 6 weeks.
