My second coming

Well I’ve decided I’m not going quietly. I have every intention of making the most of every day I have remaining and create a brilliant second coming. In fact my second coming is going to the best years I have ever had the luck to experience.

I am 52 years young, and will have achieved most of my major goals by 55, and I know the life I have to look forward to is going to be simply sensational.

I truly believe I will be travelling across the world delivering the reinvention university meeting up with my wonderful partners who live all over this planet of ours, relaxing in between events on the Island of Lanzarote and of course writing and coaching every day, making a difference. I wouldn’t have it any other way,

People like to refer to midlife as “the golden years.  Admittedly it is a period when you slowdown a little and you are now meant to have the time to stop and smell the roses. Unfortunately many individuals aren’t in the position where they can sit back and enjoy all the hard work of the years behind them. Things may not have come together as well as you had wished for, and you still have a long way to go if you’re going to achieve your dreams. Well you need to believe in your second coming, and do everything you can to bring it about.

Sure, we’re all getting older in years, but we don’t have to give up on ourselves. It is inevitable that we must eventually encounter the darkness of age, but we don’t have to go down without a fight. Instead we can go kicking and screaming. Nothing will ever hold me back, and I want you to say the same. The best years of your life story have yet to be written.

For some of us there are particular events that serve as wake up calls. Whether it’s the death of a loved one, the loss of a job or a milestone birthday, we wake up one day and realize we are not where we thought we’d be.

The dream we had as young adults to take on the world and make our wildest dreams come true has been put on hold. Life, marriage, children, and making a living have taken over and we have forgotten all about chasing our dreams. Maybe like me you experienced a painful failure that drove you as far down as you could go, where fear and hurt took over. But trust you can make your comeback and enjoy a fantastic second coming. I remember my milestone event. My mother died. We’re only talking about February this year.

It somehow brought together all my thoughts and gave me a laser focus of what I needed to do. I’ve been preparing for this for years! People have told me that turning 50 can either be met with great happiness or deep, regretful sadness. Well 50 for me was the signal for me to now make my life great and genuinely make the difference to the lives of other people. There was still time to do something about my life and change things around.

It taught me to reflect and think about what I wanted to do with my life.  It got me to see with clarity the meaning of everything that happened to me, and even more importantly, it got me to understand my purpose in life. To use my experiences and what I learnt to help others. It saw the creation of my Reinvention University. I now look back and think how did I create all this in just 5 months. I tingled at the thought of a new path I’ve taken.

Seeing my mother pass away reminded me how short life is. So short that you shouldn’t spend it doing something you’re not passionate about and so it got me to make the changes necessary so that I could focus on my passion of coaching and teaching.

So I strongly suggest you give yourself permission to pursue your passions and to be happy. Many times we forget that we actually deserve to enjoy life.

Spend time sitting quietly every morning with your eyes closed. Think about “what do you love most about life? What do you enjoy doing that gives you a sense of fulfilment?” What would the most successful version of yourself look like? See that picture! And be grateful particular for you now seeing the best way forward for you into your second life.
