Helping Others Succeed

Life’s too short for negativity. Let’s take a moment today and think what a difference we can all make by helping others succeed!

In this internet community that so many of us put our time and effort into, alas there are those that too often take a swipe at others, bad mouth another, try to ruin another’s reputation, knock someone down a peg or two, or try to steal away business from another organisation. This negative energy does nobody any good.

As Mark Twain so aptly put it “Keep away from those who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you believe that you too can become great.”

Pay attention to the people who surround you. Surround yourself with people in your life who lift you up, who help you to be the best you can be. See your life as a game and the people who surround yourself with as your teammates. Ask yourself who would you want on your Team? Who would help you win the Trophies? Choose your dream team, people who believe in you, and you in them.

Remember success is a team sport Success is not shaped in a vacuum; it takes a team of likeminded people moving in the same direction to successfully achieve success. Everyone on the team plays a unique role and contributes their part to the overall success.

Many of you know that I’m a life coach, and as such I help people with a variety of life issues. Helping others doesn’t have to be a life changing action. Sometimes it’s as simple as words of encouragement, or a listening ear when it’s most needed. Sometimes it’s just being there ready to support someone in their time of need.

As a business leader, I am also well aware that success is less about myself and more about others, those in my team. Maybe I see myself as a Musketeer, all for one, and one for all.

My life is dedicated to making a difference in the world. Yet I am only one person. What I know is that if I can make the difference to 5 other people, and in turn those 5 people help another 5 people, and the chain continues what a wonderful world this could be.

This was highlighted to me by a wonderful comment I received from one of my partners Judy Murphy.

She believes that with what she allowed herself to listen to, and take action on, by way of your personal development training, some huge lights have turned on big time. Her heart and her gut is telling her mind what has to be done and it is simply share, share, share, and to teach honesty and simplicity.

“The key to any business success is making someone else successful, so always look for ways you can help other people succeed.”

These words embody the principle that when you help others, you help yourself. The more you can help other people succeed, the more they will want to help you succeed and the power of the universe, through the law of attraction, will work to support you.

If you read this blog with any regularity you know that I am a big believer in the law of attraction. One sure path for success in anything, is to help others first and reap the rewards second. If we all concentrate on what Dale Carnegie said, “Help others get what they want then you’ll get what you want”; success will come our way.

Think about who you can help today. Then do something for them without asking for anything in return. If you do this one thing in business, you’ll not only make some serious lifetime friendships, you’ll also see your business grow over the years by people reciprocating in kind.

I agree with Winston Churchill who once said, “We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.” When you give with no expectation of return you will succeed.

The organisation Neil and I are building is at a very exciting stage. Helping others succeed is the path to our organisational success as well as our personal success. Helping others succeed takes enthusiasm, passion and time dedicated to making another human being successful. Nothing can make you feel better than helping someone else achieve success. But unlike others we do it for real, because we want to make the difference, and we do. We love what we do, and have so much fun while we are at it.

“You will get everything in life that you want if you just help enough other people get what they want.” Zig Ziglar

What can you do today to help someone else succeed? Who could use your help right now? Make an effort to reach out to someone, and be that “breath of fresh air” that they need right now.

Ghandi said, “be the change you wish for the world”. You wish for success, fulfilment, joy, helpfulness? Be that to everyone you work with. We all have something to share, teach and learn from each other.

“It is literally true that you can succeed best and quickest by helping others to succeed.” Napoleon Hill

When all is said and done, the main reason why helping others benefits you is because you’re leaving your mark on the world. When you help others, you live on in their memories as a true difference in their lives.

To those of you that pretend to care for others, who lead others to the promise land with your false claims, I beseech you to change. It’s easier to be sincere, than to pretend. It’s easier to be truthful, than to maintain deception. It’s easier to take action, than to live with regret. It’s easier to do it right, than to go back and fix it. Just remember it’s never to late to learn, no matter what country you may live in.

“The person who starts out simply with the idea of getting rich won’t succeed; you must have a larger ambition.” John D. Rockefeller

I leave the final words to a special person in my life. An inspiration, and a teacher who I know will do as much for me as I will do for him on our journey of bringing personal development to our readers. Today I just want to say to him, “thank you for being you, and I hope your children know what a wonderful man their father truly is!’

“There is definitely magic in the air! Just imagine being able to impact so many lives in such a positive way. Your vision of making a difference is about to be realised”. Loddy Micucci

I get paid to help others succeed sort of. Small achievable steps is my main goal, and of course listening to what they want rather then what a “service” feels they need. Great post mate good to read you as ever

  5. What an inspirational post Larry. So many people out there do things for one another, but there always seems to be strings attached. I try very hard to do for others as I would want them to do for me, and then forget it. I don’t want strings attached. I don’t want someone to feel obliged to me for an act of kindness. When I do for you, I do it because I want to, because I love you as a friend, and because you are important to me and in a time of need. My life is better for living that way, and I find a sense of satisfaction each day. I am a true believer of ‘what comes around, goes around’. So many bloggers have been there for me in my time of need and sometimes just a simple smiley face or heart on a fb profile page says so many words in silence that it touches me deeply.
We need to continue to grow together, sharing with each other, and most importantly, be supportive of one another. If one succeeds, we all succeed 🙂

A personal development plan would include first defining what specific area that you want to improve. Let’s say that you want to experience harmonious relationships. First you would need to define what a harmonious relationship is. Next you would have to decide how you can achieve harmonious relationships. Lastly you have to put your plan into action.
