The Power Of Self Reflection

Life is becoming more and more fast-paced, we are busier than ever, and that is even more reason we have to use the power of self-reflection. Self-Reflection gives us an opportunity to think, to review, to contemplate everything that we are doing and being, to determine whether we really are on the right track in our life.

Because we’re so busy, we don’t take the time to look at where we are in life. Without self-reflection, we may not get to where we want to go, and we may even end up going in the wrong direction. We rush about doing one thing after another and never take time out to catch our breath let alone engage in self-reflection.

You need to slow yourself down from time to time, pause and reflect in order to take stock of where you are, where you are going and what you are doing.

Normally, we’re usually rushing around doing things or thinking of what we need to do next. We never take the time to actually stop ourselves and reflect. Reflection is a highly valuable and integral part of any fulfilling life. It’s time you allowed yourself time to do this for yourself.

With everything I do, I stop to reflect and see whether it’s in alignment with my goals and dreams. I do this often. I love to reflect on where I am with regards to my dreams and goals, and what I think is required to move forward. I also take time to slow down my schedule and just ‘be’ in the moment appreciating where I am, and what I’ve achieved. More importantly this ‘quiet’ time gives me the answers to what I now need to do.

My personal self reflection time has created so many eureka moments, where real creativity, inspiration and drive emerge. It is such a powerful part of my personal development tool kit.

Make reflection a regular part of your life. Establish a regular routine, I suggest fifteen minutes each morning or evening, three times a week.

Are the things which keep you running around all day giving you a deep sense of personal fulfilment and satisfaction? If not, perhaps your busyness just distracts you from having to look at your life and sorting out the things that aren’t right or distracting you from facing those dissatisfying areas of your life.

I encourage you to pause for a moment to reflect on life; not only about what you are so busy doing but also how you could be doing things better.

What I’m telling you to do is stop. You must stop and pay attention to yourself, becoming more aware! You need to take time to self-reflect, and know yourself. You need to set aside time to reflect, consider, contemplate, daydream, analyze, and think

Let me give you some examples of questions that you can use in a self-reflection session.
