The Canvas Of Life

What do I mean when I say the canvas of life? You just need to look at masterpieces like the Pieta in Rome or Michaelangelo’s David and you can’t help but be overawed by their perfection. That is the effect and reaction you will always get when you take time to gaze at one of the beautiful paintings or sculptors of a master. Just think how much time, effort and patience they put in to creating each individual piece of work that they did.

They managed to create something larger than life that will stay in memory for centuries. Every time I have been fortunate enough to visit a wonderful gallery, or amazing cities like Rome, Paris or Venice and see the incredible creations of art, the one word that I will always think of is … REMARKABLE.

The dictionary defines “Remarkable” as..

  • Worthy of Notice: Worth noticing or commenting on
  • Unusual: Unusual or exceptional, and attracting attention because of this
  • To me a main part of my mission in life is to help others, as well as myself live a remarkable life having a vision and passion for doing remarkable things. To take a unique path that no one else has travelled. You can make incredible progress once you understand that taking your passions and combining them with a vision for your future and a conviction to do what is right, with a desire to impact others for their betterment is the way you should be painting your canvas of life.

Today I challenge you to take 5 minutes, find a quiet place and imagine your perfect life. Really feel it. What do you see? How do you feel? Who are you surrounded by? What are you doing?

Do you see what you are doing? You are taking your mind, and you are beginning to create your very own masterpiece. You are the painter or the sculptor of your very own life.

Our lives are like a blank canvas waiting to be painted upon. A canvas to be covered with our stories yet to be painted. Each day offers you the opportunity to paint a new picture. And upon the canvas will be your story. I want you to paint your very own masterpiece of a life. Your potential is one of those things that you have within you, and that you have all the ability to draw out of yourself. It is your heart, the deepest part of you. If you let it slip away, you’ll end up in a life you didn’t ask for, with a career you don’t enjoy, and a restlessness that won’t let you sleep. You will look back with regret, and I don’t want this for you.

Your potential is coursing through your veins right now, like the ink through a pen, or paint through a brush. There is still a great deal possible for you, but it’s up to you to lead yourself to an exhilarating life manifesting your potential. Will you challenge yourself to grow beyond your wildest dreams while facing your fears? Will you create your most remarkable life and let excitement keep you up at night instead of fear?

Today is a new day! And we all have a masterpiece that yearns to be created! This is your moment to create the life you want! This is your moment to paint that masterpiece within you, on your canvas of life!

We all have the power to change the picture that is displayed on our canvas. It is your life to change. Our life can be rewritten with a single stroke of the brush. It is possible to wipe the slate clean, and start your Canvas afresh.

So what’s it going to take for you to decide to take your canvas and begin painting a beautiful masterpiece that portrays the life you want to be living.

Can you see it in your head yet? Imagine the picture you want to create. You can’t just start throwing paint on the canvas. Spend time picturing your vivid masterpiece in your mind.

You are a unique and wonderful individual with something special to contribute to the world. So get busy painting your canvas doing everything you can, and do it the best you can.

What specific actions can you take today to move from your current reality to something that’s more in line with your ideal reality?

Larry, I like the simile that living a life is like painting a picture. Also we should not forget that creating a true masterpiece requires a lot of time and, what is more important, patience. It took three long years to create David statue. So when starting painting our canvas we have to be patient and not to expect that the picture will be finished in one night.
