During our lifetime we get a multitude of opportunities that will support us in moving towards a more fulfilling and meaningful life. The question is do we notice these opportunities, and make the most of them.
“Opportunities multiply as they are seized; they die when neglected.
Life is a long line of opportunities.” John Wicker
The key to success in life is the skill to distinguish, attract and best use the opportunities that come our way.
An opportunity may be defined as:
1) a favourable or advantageous chance or opening.
2) a good position, chance, or prospect, as for advancement or success.
3) a situation or condition favourable for the attainment of a goal.
The sad thing is more often than not we let these opportunities go. We spend so much of our time looking either too far in the future or too far in the past and in doing so, we find ourselves missing out on the opportunities that come our way.
Our potential can only be truly fulfilled when we make the most of every opportunity.
You can’t just sit around waiting for the big opportunity to come your way, dreaming about all the wonderful things that you want to do in your life feeling the dissatisfaction of your unfulfilled life.
Dissatisfaction is not a bad thing and can be a strong driving force in our lives. Without dissatisfaction we would sink into a deadening complacency. We would not look for opportunities nor would we seize and use the opportunities that presented themselves to us. We would accept mediocrity, worst still we would put up with failure. Dissatisfaction is vital in helping us to see our opportunities when they come our way.
Haven’t you noticed, no matter how good things are, you’ll always feel that little bit of dissatisfaction, prodding you forward. A certain degree of dissatisfaction is key to finding and benefiting from opportunities. Too much self-satisfaction just leads to complacency. Where you sit back and no longer look for or even hope to bring opportunities into your life. Stay aware of your dissatisfaction and use it to drive you forward to success.
Wonderful opportunities will present themselves to you during your life but it’s down to you to discover them.
Do not use distressing times and personal suffering as an excuse any longer. Sometimes you have to make opportunities happen for you. I want you to know the brightest opportunities can be found in the darkest of times, be on your guard, waiting for them. Don’t let them go.
Seriously looking out for any and all opportunities in general is an essential part of success.
No longer let your limiting expectations stop you from achieving great things. Be driven by great ambition, by magnificent dreams. Develop the belief that you can achieve great things.
You deserve it. You are worthy of it. And you can achieve anything you put your heart and mind to.
What ever tough times you have had in life: you have survived everything and you are still able to move forward finding the answers and opportunities to make yourself a positive power in the world. Know that you are worthy of success.
So make a decision today, to see the great possibilities in life and be ready to make the most of this opportunity of life.
Whoever you are, whatever you have, and whatever abilities you may have, you can make a difference with your life to this world …. So go about doing something about it.
“What is opportunity, and when does it knock? It never knocks. You can wait a whole lifetime, listening, hoping, and you will hear no knocking. None at all. You are opportunity, and you must knock on the door leading to your destiny. You prepare yourself to recognize opportunity, to pursue and seize opportunity as you develop the strength of your personality, and build a self-image with which you are able to live / with your self-respect alive and growing.” – Maxwell Maltz
