Symptoms Of Exhaustion You Shouldn’t Ignore

We all get worn out from time to time but today I want to show you some symptoms of exhaustion you shouldn’t ignore. The body is a magnificent machine when everything is working well. When things start to go wrong, it tries to help us by sending little signals letting us know that something is going off track. Often the physical signs and symptoms we feel are ways our body tries to alert us to the fact something isn’t right, more often than not something is out of balance.

That’s is exactly what will happen if you’re heading towards exhaustion. What is exhaustion? The simple answer is that it is a state that occurs when things get too much for us. The pressures of work, relationships and emotional problems can become too much for our body and mind to cope with, and we begin to allow our natural defences to drop. Mental and physical exhaustion is rapidly on the rise in modern society.

Exhaustion can come about very suddenly, and can be seen through personality changes, becoming withdrawn and more anxious. Often you will become listless and lethargic, probably irritable and touchy, just not your usual self. Both your body and mind seem to be overworked, all the time.

Exhaustion comes about when our body has had enough; we are only built to handle so much, and sometimes we become overloaded. When exhaustion sets in we have missed our bodies attempts at given us signals to get things sorted.

Let’s take a look at the symptoms of exhaustion so you can see the signs.

1. Tired all the time

Do you feel drained and worn out all day long, without any reason? Do you have difficulty getting out of bed in the morning feeling just as tired as when you went to bed the night before? Feeling shattered every day without any obvious reason is a sure sign of exhaustion.

2. General Morass

Another sign of is having a feeling of lethargy, just not seeming able to get yourself into the mood to do anything. So alongside having trouble waking up in the morning, you just don’t seem to be able to get yourself going at any time through the day. You just feel run down having to drag yourself through each day, and being unable to not only not get excited by anything, but show no interest in anything. You may also experience a dwindled sex drive and disinterest in your business and life in general.

3. Lots of aches and pains

Exhaustion not only affects us mentally but physically too, as the mind and body are deeply interconnected. So a general lack of strength, feeling weak all the time, becoming sick often, frequent headaches, back pain and muscle aches. You just keep feeling different body parts aren’t quite right, limbs, joints all just seem out of sync.

4. Relying on stimulants

Just to get you through the day you seem heavily dependent on coffee or energy drinks. Do you feel you couldn’t get through the day without them? So many people seem to resort to all forms of caffeine intake to try and find some energy, things like pro plus tablets are in your mind the only way you’ll make it to the end of your working day. When you need to rely on stimulants exhaustion is definitely a sign you need to be aware of.

5. Getting nothing done

The day just seems to fly by before you can even get started. All those things you were meant to do remain untouched on your to-do list. You’ve completely lost your get up and go where even the simplest chores are proving to much for you. Is your dirty washing pile building, the dirty dishes taking over the kitchen, the garden overgrown with weeds, or are you living of takeaways because you just don’t seem to be able to get up the energy or desire to do any cooking. Are you struggling because of exhaustion?

6. Constant ill health

A typical symptom of exhaustion is that your immune system stops working efficiently, so your body isn’t able to recover from illness or injury. You just don’t seem able to shift your ailments, they just hang around. Maybe you seem to get cold after cold. Just as you seem to be over a bout of flu, it returns almost immediately after. When you just seem to be going through illness on a non stop basis, you have to analysis things to see whether perhaps exhaustion is the cause.

7. Changes in personality

Your behaviour is likely to change as a sign of exhaustion. You will become short tempered, irritable, with regular mood swings. Withdrawing from responsibilities, isolating yourself from your family and friends and procrastinating are all signs of exhaustion. Other common changes include the inability to care for yourself, you just can’t be bothered to shower or bath, do your hair, dress smartly, and also you may show signs of reduced productivity at work. You’re just not yourself.

8. Down in the Dumps

A sense of failure may set in and self-doubt, a feeling of helpless, trapped and defeated, a totally negative outlook. Everyone’s to blame for where you are.and all you can see is doom and gloom in your ever increasingly pessimistic view of life,

Fortunately, we can take steps to deal with this terrible. The first step in defeating exhaustion is to address the underlying cause. Consider lifestyle changes that include better nutrition, regular exercise, and stress management. If lifestyle changes don’t seem to help or if you are showing additional symptoms, it is recommended that you seek professional evaluation.
